Week 59
Kia Ora Whanau! This week on Tuesday we had some very sad news. Ann, the woman who had a baptisimal date for December 7, cancelled her baptism. It was so sad but it was good because she made a hard decision to help her prepare more and overcome her smoking. She is still keen though which is fantastic and we are excited to keep helping her come unto Christ.Wednesday we went on exchanges and I was with Sister Taroni in Wainuiomata. It was such a successful day, we found two new people to teach and one of them agreed to come to church on Sunday!Thursday was hard because so few people were home. But no effort is wasted. We did get to see a woman who we just started teaching and she said that she would like her whole family to start listening to us which is so exciting because the gospel is all about families! So hopefully we will get to start teaching them all this week.We had some door knocking miracles this week. On Tuesday before we started door knocking we said a prayer to prepare the people on this street and then literally on the second door a whole family was prepared to have us! Neither of the parents grew up attending a church but now they have 4 kids and want to bring their family to church so they are actively seeking religion! The other miracle happened on Sunday. We had picked a really obscure country road to door knock and we again said a pray asking that the people on the street would be prepared for our message and then on the first house a woman was really interested in the Book of Mormon and was so excited to get to read it. Such tender mercies and miracles to see our prayers answered so immediately. This week for spiritual thought I want to share 3 Nephi 5:13 which says "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." This is who I am as a missionary and there is no greater joy than seeing people come closer to Christ.Ofa AtuSister Olson
