Week 5

Kia Ora!  I can't believe it's already p-day! This week went by so fast it was wild.  On Tuesday we met with this guy named Keith. We had a good talk with him and explained to him the kingdoms of glory and the qualifications for the celestial kingdom. Then I kid you not he said, "Man what if I'm wrong that would be so bad. It's incredible how God directs your path, especially putting you in my life". So naturally as any missionary would I invited him to take the lessons and he said no 😑. He said "No thank you, I have my church and you have yours but thank you for the offer." Man it was so frustrating because he basically said himself he needed to and then when given the opportunity he declined it. One day it'll happen for him, he is so prepared he just needs to recognize it. On Tuesday I ate skewered chicken kidneys. They didn't taste that gross, they just had a super weird texture.  Wednesday was so awesome. As usual we had din

Kia Ora Whanau! (Pronounced fawnoo, means family) This week went by so fast it was crazy. My last email was super long so I'll try to keep this one shorter.  Last Monday we had a really great lesson with a less active/part member family. We talked about how the gospel blesses family and ready 1 Nephi 8 with them. We asked if they would be interested in having us over to teach them more and to help them come to church and the wife Hineone was super excited and said yes (she's less active) and the husband Mia was less enthusiastic but also said yes. We were pumped. They told us that they would text us the next day for a return appointment but they never did and have since dropped off the face of the earth. We've called, and texted, and dropped by their house but we haven't been able to contact them which is not good.  On Monday we also knocked on a nice lady's door and she was busy so she told us to come back. So we did, and she was busy again but to

Kia Ora! I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the New Zealand Wellington mission. The missionaries in the Wellngton Mission are now beginning to use facebook to help us more effectivly achieve our purpose: to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. While I a m now on facebook I am still a missionary. This means that I will not be able to message, comment, reply to comments, like or have any interactions with people who are not in my current proselyting area. If you would like to communicate with me you can email me at carmen.olson@myldsmail.net. I would love to hear from you through email and I promise I'll respond! I love you all! I love the gospel and I love my mission  <3

Week 3ish

Kia Ora  This week was crazy! It's been so long, we'll see if I can remember everything. Just a warning this email is going to be long because it's been over a week since my last one and so much has happened.  Throw back to Saturday the 28 I played rugby again during sport. It's been a week since hurting my ankle so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't get hurt again which is a plus but I was for sure protecting my ankle. After sport we taught our investigator Bri and from that lesson I realized I need to have more charity if I want to be successful in missionary work. In Mosiah 28:3 it says "Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble." I need to be like the sons of Mosiah here and have so much charity that I literally cannot stand the thought of
