Week 72

Kia Ora Whanau

Being a non samoan speaking missionary in a samaon ward is interesting. Your success as a missionary is measured in a totally different way. It's no longer measured by how well you teach or how well you invite people or the fruits that you see, its measured in your diligence in being obedient and focused even though you are participating as obviously in conversations and lessons. It's been a cool thing to see and learn.

Tuesday was my birthday! I got spoiled by the sisters! We did heaps of service which was such a fun way to spend my birthday. We also got a new person to teach! What a great birthday gift!

Wednesday no one was home all day. Just one of those days. Everyone has them. Those are just the days when you have to remember why you're here. They always end up good.

Thursday we had a dinner appointment with a part member family and we asked the Dad if we could start teaching his daughter. He said we could teach her but it's not her time to be baptized. I was like that's fine because as we teach her then that will make it her time. We were supposed to go to Ashburton (an hour away) for ministering night by our dinner went late so instead we went to visit a member who said she has a refferal for us. It was such a blessing because apparently her boyfriend wants the lessons! What a miracle.

Friday was weekly planning day and we got it all done in one sitting for the first time in forever! We had volleyball sports night and it was so successful. We met so many potentials! Sister Crichton was so onto it, I'm so grateful for her!

Sunday was a miracle! So many people came to church! So many people bore their testimonies and the spirit was so strong! I didn't understand any of it but I felt it all. Then for dinner we went to Sister Crichtons  family's house and it turns out one of their kids is not a member! So we will start teaching him!

My spiritual thought this week comes from Joseph Smiths first vision. I was studying it and then all of a sudden it blew me away that only 200 years ago God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ were here on earth talking to a 14 year old boy! It just blew my mind because 200 years isn't that long and the last time that God the Father came to earth was the garden of eden so how significant was the restoration in the eternal perspective of things! Everyone please study the first vision and prepare for general conference!
