Week 57

Kia Ora Whanau

Do this week was so busy; it's always busy!

Monday last week we taught Ann about following the prophet at a family home evening held by some members. We were pretty creative and taught it by playing "Simon Says" but instead it was "The Prophet Says". It actually went really well and sparked some really good discussion.

On Tuesday we emergency moved some members who had their baby a month early and were planning to move to a new house that day. What a coincidence that the baby came the same day and the move. It kept us busy all day!

Wednesday we contacted alot of people. One of them is a lady who we did some service for a few weeks back and who said she'd be interested in learning more. We spent a good 45 minutes answering her questions and overcoming some misconceptions that she had about the church of Jesus Christ. It was a really good visit and ended with her and her friend both accepting a Book of Mormon.

We also recieved a refferal for some members who really want to get out of their not so great life style and come back to  church. We went and met then and they are so so keen on coming. When we invited them to church this Sunday they said with so much conviction "yup we will absolutely be there!" And they came! We were in Featherston for church and not Masterton so we didn't get to see them there but they came. The struggles of covering two areas.

Wednesday night we got to go back to my first area, Western Hutt ward, for a ministering night and it was so fun! Man I love the members in that area. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

On Friday we weeded the garden of some one we are teaching. She is aiming to get baptized in the middle of february! We also had a lesson with one of the new people that we are teaching. She really likes to talk so we didnt get to say much but we are going back on Wednesday and she said she would read the introduction of the Book Of Mormon! We also saw Ann and taught her the plan of Salavation. She is doing so well now and is so excited for her baptism in December!

Masterton ward relief society had a Christmas party on Saturday and we brought a less active woman with us. We walked her home afterwards and it was so crack up because she has an electric wheel chair and she was zooming down the foot path so fast that we had to low key jog to keep up ahaha.

This week I am grateful for my hoa (soa)! She is the most Christ Like person ever. For example I woke up in the very early hours of the morning today because I had some really bad pain in my feet. When she woke up and found out what happened so was genuinely upset that I didn't wake her up and let her help me. She also surprised me today by hand sewing me a body pillow! I always talk about missing my body pillow at home and so today she made me one! Who does that kind of stuff. Well Sister Siale does!

This week my spiritual thought come from Helaman 14:31 which says "He hath given unto you that ye might know good from evil, and he hath given unto you that ye might choose life or death; and ye can do good and be restored unto that which is good, or have that which is good restored unto you; or ye can do evil, and have that which is evil restored unto you." Heavenly Father has given us the gift of agency and so in all things we get to choose. We can choose joy or we can choose misery, so I think we should al use this gift properly and choose joy!
