Week 43

Kia Ora Whanau

Some key highlights from this week included all of our lessons with the people we are teaching getting cancelled, some miracles, and some rain.

So the theme of this week was having some super awesome lessons planned and prepared to then get a text 30 minutes before hand finding out that the lesson is getting cancelled. Despite of alm this we did see some miracles.

One included the chance of getting to see a lady I had met in the my first area while on exchanges. While one exchanges this week, we went and saw Bridget who has been working to get baptized for forever and she is literally so close to achieving her goal but Satan is working really hard on her now. She struggles to understand the Book of Mormon so we showed her how she can read the Book of Mormon story book with the referenced scripture versus to help her understand. We did little to no teaching as she explained what she learned from reading the first chapter. I felt very impressed to say the following: "Bridget I hope you realize that everything you just said to us is not written anywhere in the scriptures, and none of us told it to you, the spirit testified of these truths to you and you then were able to share them with us. What you just told us, is evidence that you do have the spiritual gift to understand the scriptures and receive revelation." It was so cool to see her face when it clicked that she had actually just recieved revelation from Heavenly Father.

Another miracle that happened this week is finding a man named Wiremu. So we have felt impressed to knock on a particular door all transfer. We have tried to contact the people who live there about 3 times and have had no luck. This time, however, they answered and it was Wiremu. He just moved to Masterton from Lower Hutt and is a less active member. You could tell that his spirit was wanting to come back but he was making it hard for himself. But we knew as soon as we met him why we kept feeling like we needed to go back.

A funny thing that happened this week is when we went to contact a refferal names Michelle. When we got there she had just gotten of the phone with the cops because some kids had egged her house. We were like man that sucks your house got egged but it's awesome for us because now we can do service for you. As we were washing the eggs off her house, about 5 12 year old hori as (that's a super kiwi term, look it up) boys rock up and start cussing out Michelle and her fiance. Everyone got so heated so fast. It looked like they were going to start fighting, all the while we are awkwardly washing the eggs of the house. In the end there was no fight and we got to have a great chat with Michelle about the gospel and she is keen to learn more.

On the weekend we had Stake conference and the theme was self reliance. It was super powerful because it drove home the fact that everything is spiritual to Heavenly Father, nothing is just temporal, which is such a motivation to look unto him in every thought.

For my spiritual thought, I just want to share my testimony that I know that Christ lives. I get to see and feel His love for everyone, every single day. I know that Heavenly Father is real and he is perfectly aware of each of us, the spirit has testified that to me countless times. Through prayer and study of the Book of Mormon I have come to know that it is the word of God and will guide and direct you in every decision you are faced with. I know that the Lords work and glory is to help us to return to him in a perfected and exalted state and it is such a privilege to get to assist in that work each day.
