Week 37

Kia Ora Whanau

What up everyone! This week we found 3 new people to teach which was cool! Idk how far they'll progress but we will teach all who are willing to listen!

One of the families we found are from Samoa and they are string in another church. Sister Mamea taught them the restoration in samoan and then me and sister Tu'i'onetoa bore our testimonies. They flat out told us they didnt believe us, but the didnt bible bash or anything and then they asked when we can come back and share more with them so it'll be interesting working with them. We invited them to pray about it so hopefully they follow through on that.

The other person that we started teaching is the nephew of one of our members. He's super chill and nice and he used to be taught by the missionaries so he knows alot. Hopefully we will be able to help him progress towards baptism.

On Thursday we went and saw a family that we are kind of working with. We haven't seen them in like 3 weeks because they just got married so they've been busy. As we talked with them the word of wisdom came up and so we committed them to not drink coffee for a week. They were pretty hesitant but in the end were excited for the challenge lol.

On Saturday we attended a ward releif society activity hoping some people we are working with would show up, no such luck. A total of 5 people showed up, it was so sad. After the activity though, we and the releif Society President rearranged the chairs in the chapel. We took the 2 back rows out and shifted all of the chairs forward so that people had to sit at the front and couldn't ait in the back lol.

Saturday night, we went and watched the restoration movie with Donald and Teresa and had a really good discussion about it afterwards. They both said they believed it and that they would come to church the next day (they didn't come).

This week as I was reading the book of mormon I read Alma 13:3-5 which is all about foreordination. I found a quote from Joseph Smith that says "Every man who has a calling to minister to the inhabitants of the world was ordained to that very purpose in the Grand Council of heaven before this world was." As I thought about this, it dawned on me that this applies to everyone in all of their callings. It doesn't just apply to Prophets and apostles, it applies to ward choristers and primary pianists. Every calling that is extended to us is a calling that we were foreordained/fordesignated to have. I was called in the pre mortal existence to serve in the New Zealand Wellington Mission and every assignment or calling that I receive in the future is something I agreed to do before I came to earth. To me this is a motivating reason to accept and magnify all callings.
